Bio
Nur Mi'raj is incarcerated at the Washington Corrections Center for Women under the name Lia Tricomo. Her developmental years were largely spent outdoors in rural Japan in the Northwest corner of Honshu (Japan's main island). At the age of 8 her family immigrated to the United States. She earned her undergraduate degree in Liberal Arts at The Evergreen State College with a strong focus in Music/Violin Performance. She began drawing in an art class at the Western State Hospital where she served an involuntary civil commitment. Nur enjoys painting, singing, and playing guitar. Music and Art get her through the days.

"Washington Coast #1" / 2026 / Watercolor on paper / 9 " x 12" / FOR SALE $10-20. Sea coast is depicted from a view of the horizon from a beach down the coast. Two roughly conical surf stacks with sparse trees on them come out of the water near the middle of the frame. On the right a dark purple wooded coast slope down along the coast to the horizon. Skeletal beached logs are pushed and stacked against the forest bank from the beach. colors are laid with bold thick lines with stark contrasts between violet and yellow giving a moody quality.

Two roughly conical surf stacks with sparse trees on them come out of the water near the middle of the frame. The entire scene has a goldish quality suggesting sunset with strong blue shadows. A rock which looks like it is protruding from the frame looks to be strolling on the beach. Blue and purple trees above the bank slope down along the coast to the horizon with islands suggested at a far distance on the ocean.

A silhouette of dark fir trees block the horizon line with a orange and yellow sky behind. trees are heavily glazed with color below dark grey which is lifted in spots to reveal a surface saturated with color. In front of the dark trees are three "ghost trees" which are translucent leafless saplings with branches veining into the dark background.
